I am going to do this! I will be writing a spec-ops scenario in a scifi setting. The creative juices are already flowing.
How litteral is the war thing? I'm doing one based on a rouge ai and I'm finding it almost impossible to work anything war related in. It feels extremely restricting. Like does it have to be a war or can it just be a general conflict or battle. Like for example trying to escape an ai that created a feels of dodged podged robots to kill the station it runs crew. While it's not a war it is a battle between these robots and the 2 main characters ( and like 3 body gaurds but they are barely characters)
It has to involve war, so if you could make it so the robots are part of one faction and the other characters are part of their own faction. It doesn't have to be a key part of the war, it just has to be in a war setting. Take example, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, it takes place during the US Civil War but isn't ABOUT the US Civil War. I hope that helps!

What exactly is Make it Count? Is it just a Sci Fi story collection, or is it meant to be its own universe that just happens to be large enough that literally anything can happen?
It's an orchestrated/moderated scifi universe, anything added would have to be accepted by the current people in charge of lore keeping. This short story is not in this universe; it's specifically for finding talent and potentially recruiting what I am calling the lore master/lead writer.
